Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley Offers Camp Scholarships

Are you a member of a church in the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley? Are you interested in summer camp for your kids?

Did you know the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley, which covers 7 counties and over 48 churches loves Summer Camp, and offers camperships to any Christian Camp for their church members! What an incredible offer, and MAPLERIDGE Ranch is considered a Level 3 Camp.  If you would like more information and see if your children are eligible for their Campership Program, please visit their website.

The following is available on their website…http://susvalpresby.org/mission/christian-nurture

“The goal of the Christian Nurture Team (Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley)  is to support and encourage the Christian growth of youth and young adults in this presbytery.  The team provides Camperships for youth up to 12th Grade.  Campers receive a partial scholarship to a 1 week summer camp at any Christian camp.   The Team also supports Christian fellowships in four colleges, providing funding for mission trips, and special events designed by the Campus Ministers to address ongoing human issues such as hunger, marriage equality, ecumenical relations and interfaith dialogue.  Finally, the Team supports the Youth Triennium, held by the Presbyterian Church (USA) every three years. The most recent Triennium was held in 2013, with many youth and advisers participating.

The team meets several times during the year to plan and carry out its various programs.  Meetings are conducted both by getting together and by the use of GoToMeeting.  We celebrate the growth in our programs, and invite all youth in the Presbytery to take advantage of God’s bounty.

Camperships

In 2013, the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley sent 45 children, and 1 young adult with special needs to camp.  The 2014 budget for camperships is $13,000.  We look forward to another wonderful year as we encourage God’s youth to grow in God’s love.  Thank you all for continuing to support the Christian Nurture Team.”
